| More and
more people are switching to solar to supply
their hot water in the home. With rising fuel
prices and public concern over increased CO2
emmisions, solar heating is now a real alternative
to conventional ways of providing domestic hot
water.
There are two types of Solar collector available,
flat plate collectors and evacuated glass tube
collectors. Generally the evacuated tube collectors
work better in the UK climate as they produce
more energy per square meter and will provide
heat, even in the winter.
The Schott® evacuated
tube collector has a 360° absorber that
gives maximum benefit throughout the day. This
means that it can convert solar radiation into
heat, even on cloudy days and output heat giving
an average efficiency rate of 78%.
